Ahhhh.... Fantasy Contest....
AG does a contest for one lucky winner to pick out the next 3 historical dolls, they will be adding to their lines in the next 3-5 years.
What do you pick out????
My first one would be a Vietnamise girl who fled during the Vietnam war. She and her older brother lost their parents and were adopted by an average American family.
She would have the AGOT #4 mold, medium skin, black bangless hair down past her shoulders. Her meet outfit would be traditional Vietnamise, while her others would include traditional late 60's clothes. She would have a small pack she brought with her. Her stories would include her going through the mourning process, and cover her journey to a new country and how she handles everything.
My second one would be a 17th/18th centuary girl from New Orleans, who has African, French, Spanish, and Native American blood in her. She would have a brand new face mold that is a cross between Addy's and Josefina's. She would have Medium skin, dark brown eyes, and long bangless hair that comes as long as Josefina's. Her story would be intertsing, with a heavy influence of Voodoo, focusing on the positive healing aspects. the rest....hmmm dunno. But she would have a red Meet dress. Definatly!
My third choice would be Hawaiin girl. It would be set during the time when Hawaii became a US territory. Her family would be...corny I know...but Pineapple or Sugar farmers. Her stories could cover how her family felt about this, and have a lot of traditional Hawaiin lore. She would have the same mold as choice 2, with medium skin, light brown eyes, and wavy thin brown/black hair. Her clothes could be a combination of traditional Hawaiin lothes and contemporary/ English/American clothes. I don't knnow enough about the time to definatly know what it was like, but she'd be a pretty doll.
Okay, so what would everyone do in such a fantasy postion???

I really like the Hawaiian girl idea! You are very creative.
Those are terrific ideas! Really lovely! I love the idea of a Creole girl from New Orleans!
Also, what about a Chinese girl who migrated to California with her parents so her father could help build the railroads? She could live in San Francisco, right when Chinatown was being developed... there was also a large fire in Chinatown and that could be her " Name here) Saves the Day!"
I can already imagine the SUPER CUTE accessories! Like dumplings in steamers for her school lunch and a little bowl and chopsticks.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is almost the story of my aunt, Trinh. (Pronounced "TJCHin"). She was four years old when she was smuggled out of Vietnam by the catholics. She was tied to the top of a bus with a bunch of luggage for part of the journey, and for part of it she was gagged in a canoe because there were robbers looking for jewels and the adults didn't want her to cry out in the night (many people sold their properties and possessions for jewels, like Trinh's father). Trinh's family owed lots of hotels in Vietnam, and they were quite wealthy. Trinh and her two siblings were raised by a nanny. When they came to the US, they had an agent help them trade their jewels, and they got cheated unbelievablyOriginally posted by *The*Paranoid*Pumpkin*:

. They started a small Vietnamese restaurant here in Maine, and lived in the back. Eventually the kids grew up to work in the restaurant too. Trinh met my uncle and now they are married and I have three half-Vietnamese cousins! Trinh still remembers that journey from Vietnam quite clearly!!
I still want a northeastern coastal girl!! Think of the lighthouse possibilities, the fishing village and the lobstering! She could dig for clams and have a pet seagull . I think she could be homeschooled too, and the year could be around 1824 or 1834 or something. She could have long bangless strawberry-blond hair, tons of freckles, light skin and light blue eyes. I wouldn't mind if her hair was a bit wavy either!
Ahhh, my dream doll.
SimplePretty: your idea for a Northern Coastal girl is fantastic. I love the setting, years, and description. I would buy her the second she came out!
Oh my gosh all these ideas are sooo cute!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh my, if she has dim sum in a little lunch box, I'd be SO happy!I can already imagine the SUPER CUTE accessories! Like dumplings in steamers for her school lunch and a little bowl and chopsticks.
I really like the Hawaiian and Chinese girls so far. I'd like to see a Jewish girl, who's story I'm not exactly sure of. And a Russian immigrant, perhaps during the Russian Revolution. This requires more thought, !
Right now, I'd settle for ANY new historical!
Mmm Dim sum! I LOVE dim sum!
Writing brushes!
